Rev Up Your Reading XVI Application 2020

Print out and mail the application to The Blosser Center at the address on the application. Please include a $500 deposit to reserve your child’s place. This can be a check included with the application, or we can take a debit or credit card over the phone.

The Application can also be filled out online in your PDF Reader (Adobe Reader or similar) and emailed directly back to info@theblossercenter.org. Please note that we must receive the deposit before your child’s place in the class is reserved. We can take credit and debit cards over the phone.

The deadline for application to the Summer Camp is June 1, 2020. The camp fills up very quickly, so sooner is better!

The camp is open to students entering the first grade up to entering the sixth grade. This will be our sixteenth year! We anticipate having room for 24 students. We will be offering individual Orton-Gillingham tutoring along with small group composition and penmanship.

The camp is a full month of intensive five-day-a-week tutoring and classroom work, about 3 hours each day. It is a day camp – not a sleepaway camp – so your child will be home every afternoon.

Summer Camp will be June 29 to July 24, 2020, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM.

Last year, our roster filled up rapidly, so get your application and deposit in early! The application for Rev Up Your Reading XVI is available for download from the link at the top of this web page and can be mailed along with your $500 deposit to the Blosser Center.

The tuition for the month-long intensive instruction is $2400.00. A $500.00 deposit is required at the time the application is submitted. The remaining balance is due by June 15, 2020, two weeks before the start of class.

A reading and spelling assessment is required for enrollment, to help familiarize our staff with your child’s current skills and abilities. This skills testing is included with camp tuition – there is no extra charge for the skills assessment for Summer Camp.

We will contact you to schedule an appointment in May or June.  Assessment time is about 30 to 40 minutes.  Your deposit will be refunded if the Blosser Center determines that the student would not benefit from the program.

No professional academic and cognitive testing for learning disabilities is required for Summer Camp.  However, if parents plan or suspect they will want to continue tutoring after the Camp and into the school year, The Blosser Center requires that complete testing be done and the results reviewed by our Clinical Director.  A list of recommended testers can be found on this website under the Resources menu item.

Thank you for your interest in REV UP YOUR READING. We look forward to working with your student.
